Weightless Meditation

Mediation isn’t always easy. Some days everything aligns beautifully - the mind achieves a light focus and the next thing you know, the 20 minutes are up. Other days, the body and mind won’t cooperate as to-do lists, random thoughts and body tension get in the way. Whether you’re an expert or novice, I love suggesting bath meditations for the ultimate relaxation experience for the mind and body.

Here’s what’s so awesome about it!

First, a bathtub is one of the few places within your home that is truly private. Add a privacy sign to your door for extra protection. Sometimes the thought of getting interrupted is just as disrupting as the actual distruption!

Next, a bath offers an array of sensory options to focus on; the sound of trickling water, the feel of water on the skin, a warm washcloth on the eyes, and relaxing aromas like lavender, bergamot and citrus help to clear the mind and elevate you elsewhere. Level up by adding tranquil spa music or natural sounds like birds or rain.

Full immersion in water is the key to this mediation experience by releasing all body tension and creating a feeling of ‘weighlessness’, which traditional practices are unable to achieve. Make sure your water is warm, but not overly hot, or you will overheat quickly and not last very long, likewise, if the water cools too quickly.
